MahaShivaratri is the main festival and  Aanayoottu(feeding of elephants), is the second biggest festival held in this temple. The Vadakkunnatha temple ground, Tekkinkadu Ground is the main venue where the famous festival Thrissurpooram is conducted, even though the Vadakkunnatha temple is not a participant of this festival.
