Kurisumala is one of the major pilgrims Centre in Kottayam, Kerala. It is located about 3 km from Vazhilkkadavu, Kottayam.The word Kurisumala literally means Mount of the Cross.
Kurisumala is a Christian pilgrim centre where hundreds of devotees visit. Pilgrims usually climb the hill in faith, carrying small wooden crosses. At the top of the hill, we call feel the calm and peaceful silence of the hills.There we can feel mental refreshment. The green landscape and cool breeze give people a relief from the stress to reach onto the top of the hill.
Muruganmala on the eastern side of the hill is also there. That’s a temple dedicated to Murugan (son of Lord Shiva) and is built by cutting a rock. You can see a beautiful artificial lake on the way to Kurishumala.
