The Krishnapuram Palace is one of the royal residences, historical center placed in Kayamkulam near to Alappuzha, Kerala in southwestern India. It was inherent the eighteenth century by Anizham Thirunal MarthandaVarma (1729–1758 AD), the Travancore kingdom. The Krishnapuram Palace named after the Krishnaswamy Temple at Krishnapuram, a serene village, is situated about 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) south of Kayamkulam town. It is situated on the top of a small hillock encircled by terraced garden with fountains, ponds and lawns. Its location is to the left of the National Highway 47 (NH47) between Ochira and Kayamkulam in Alappuzha District. It is 47 kilometres (29 mi) away from Allepey (Alappuzha district) on the way to Kollam.  

The Krishnapuram Palace, as one of the finest and rarest cases of a common place Keralite-style structural engineering, referred to in the neighborhood dialect as Pathinerakettu, is finished with gabled tops, tight passageways and dormer windows. It is a small scale reproduction of Padmanabhapuram Palace, which was the central command of Travancore Rajas.The castle compound has numerous Padippuras, especially at the primary passage, which are significators of status.

Inside the royal residence is the archeological storehouse which has a show of the GajendraMoksham a 3 meters (9.8 ft) high mural, which is the biggest single bit of wall painting so far ran across in Kerala. The exacting significance of 'GajendraMoksham' is the "salvation or Moksha of the elephant ruler Gajendra."

Double edged sword – Kayamkulam Val (Sword)

The Kayamkulam ('Val' signifies "sword") is a critical show in the historical center. The importance of the sword is that its both sides are honed and consequently it is a bigger number of hazardous than any viable military weapon.
