Chembara peak is the highest hill in Wayanad,in kerala  at 2,100 metres above sea level. Chembra is located near the town of  Meppady. It is part of the Wayanad hill ranges in Western Ghats, adjoining the Nilgiri Hills in Tamilnadu and Vellarimala in Kozhikode.Trekking to the Chembra peak is a risky mountaineering endeavour. Trekking to the top of this peak takes almost a day. Tourists can also stay one or two days at the top of the peak in temporary camps. The scenic beauty of Wayanad, which is visible from the top of Chambra, is the most exciting. A heart shaped lake on the route to the highest point of the top is a significant vacation spot. A 5km venture from Meppadi town through tea plantation to Erumakkolli.
The trek to the top takes 3 hours, and one can see practically the entire of  Wayanad and parts of Malappuram, Kozhikkode and Nilgiri areas. Chembra is found in Meppadi (Meppady) Panchayath, 11 km off Nh212 (Kollegal - Mysore - Kozhikode). For individuals who lean toward open transport, KSRTC (both Kerala & Karnataka) and a considerable measure of privately owned businesses work overnight exclusive transports between Kozhikode and Bengaluru. Individuals bringing transports can get down at Kalpetta and get an alternate transport to Meppadi.
